حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ - وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَى - قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَقَالَ، يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ، سَمُرَةَ قَالَ

أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِفَرَسٍ مُعْرَوْرًى فَرَكِبَهُ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ مِنْ جَنَازَةِ ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ وَنَحْنُ نَمْشِي حَوْلَهُ ‏.‏

It is reported on the authority of Jabir ibn Samura that an unsaddled horse was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he rode on it when he returned after having offered the funeral prayer of Ibn Dahdah and we walked on foot around him.

An-Nawawi — Sharh Sahih Muslim

قَوْله : ( أُتِيَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِفَرَسٍ مُعْرَوْرًى فَرَكِبَهُ ) مَعْنَاهُ : بِفَرَسٍ عَرِيّ , وَهُوَ بِضَمِّ الْمِيم وَفَتْح الرَّاء قَالَ , أَهْل اللُّغَة : اِعْرَوْرَيْت الْفَرَس إِذَا رَكِبْته عَرِيًّا فهوَ مُعْرَوْرًى. قَالُوا : وَلَمْ يَأْتِ أُفْعَوْلَى مُعَدًّى إِلَّا قَوْلهمْ : اِعْرَوْرَيْت الْفَرَس , وَاِحْلَوْلَيْت الشَّيْء. قَوْله : ( فَرَكِبَهُ حِين اِنْصَرَفَ مِنْ جِنَازَة اِبْن الدَّحْدَاح ) فِيهِ : إِبَاحَة الرُّكُوب فِي الرُّجُوع مِنْ الْجِنَازَة , وَإِنَّمَا يُكْرَه الرُّكُوب فِي الذَّهَاب مَعَهَا. وَابْن الدَّحْدَاح بِدَالَيْنِ وَحَاءَيْنِ مُهْمَلَات , وَيُقَال : أَبُو الدَّحْدَاح. وَيُقَال : أَبُو الدَّحْدَاحَة. قَالَ اِبْن عَبْد الْبَرّ : لَ…

Jabir b. Samura said the Prophet was brought an unsaddled horse which he rode when he went away after the funeral of Ibn ad-Dahdah, and they went on foot around him. Muslim transmitted it.

وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِفَرَسٍ مَعْرُورٍ فَرَكِبَهُ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ مِنْ جَنَازَةِ ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ وَنَحْنُ نمشي حوله. رَوَاهُ مُسلم

The Prophet (ﷺ) offered funeral prayer over Ibn al-Dahdah while we were present. He was then brought a horse, and it was tied until he rode it. It then began to gallop and we were running around it.

صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى ابْنِ الدَّحْدَاحِ وَنَحْنُ شُهُودٌ ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِفَرَسٍ فَعُقِلَ حَتَّى رَكِبَهُ فَجَعَلَ يَتَوَقَّصُ بِهِ وَنَحْنُ نَسْعَى حَوْلَهُ ‏.‏

Authentic Sunan an-Nasa'i 2026

"The Messenger of Allah went our to the funeral of Ibn Ad-Dahdah, and when he came back an unsaddled horse was brought to him, so he rode and we walked with him."

‏ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى جَنَازَةِ أَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ أُتِيَ بِفَرَسٍ مُعْرَوْرًى فَرَكِبَ وَمَشَيْنَا مَعَهُ ‏.‏
