حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏

سَيْحَانُ وَجَيْحَانُ وَالْفُرَاتُ وَالنِّيلُ كُلٌّ مِنْ أَنْهَارِ الْجَنَّةِ ‏"

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

Saihan, Jaihan, Euphrates and Nile are all among the rivers of Paradise.

Reported by Muslim (No. 2839) and Ahmad (No. 7547, 9297).

An-Nawawi — Sharh Sahih Muslim

قَوْله صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ( سَيْحَان وَجَيْحَان وَالْفُرَات وَالنِّيل كُلّ مِنْ أَنْهَار الْجَنَّة ) اِعْلَمْ أَنَّ سَيْحَان وَجَيْحَان غَيْر سَيْحُون وَجَيْحُون , فَأَمَّا سَيْحَان وَجَيْحَان الْمَذْكُورَانِ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيث اللَّذَانِ هُمَا مِنْ أَنْهَار الْجَنَّة فِي بِلَاد الْأَرْمَن , فَجَيْحَان نَهَر الْمُصَيِّصَة , وَسَيْحَان نَهَر إِذْنَة , وَهُمَا نَهْرَان عَظِيمَانِ جِدًّا أَكْبَرهمَا جَيْحَان , فَهَذَا هُوَ الصَّوَاب فِي مَوْضِعهمَا , وَأَمَّا قَوْل الْجَوْهَرِيّ فِي صِحَاحه جَيْحَان نَهْر الشَّام , فَغَلَط أَوْ أَنَّهُ أَرَادَ الْمَجَاز مِنْ حَيْثُ إِنَّهُ بِبِلَادِ الْأَرْمَن , وَهِيَ مُجَاوِرَة لِلشَّامِ , قَالَ الْحَازِمِيّ : سَيْحَان نَهْر عِنْد الْمُصَيِّص…

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Oxus, Jaxartes, Euphrates, and the Nile are all from the rivers of Paradise."
