Authentic hadith of Sahih Muslim Sahih Muslim 182c

Narrator:Abu Hurayrah

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، قَالَ هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏ فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ إِنَّ

أَدْنَى مَقْعَدِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ تَمَنَّ ‏.‏ فَيَتَمَنَّى وَيَتَمَنَّى فَيَقُولُ لَهُ هَلْ تَمَنَّيْتَ فَيَقُولُ نَعَمْ ‏.‏ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ فَإِنَّ لَكَ مَا تَمَنَّيْتَ وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ ‏"

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"Indeed, the lowest position of one of you in Paradise is that He will say to him: Wish, and he will wish and wish. Then He will say to him: Did you wish? And he will say: Yes. Then He will say to him: For you is what you wished, and the like of it along with it."

Reported by Muslim (No. 182c) and Ahmad (No. 7821).

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that the lowest and least rank and level for anyone who enters Paradise is that He will say to him: Wish, and he will wish, and wish, until no wish remains not mentioned. Then He will say to him: Did you wish? He will reply: Yes. And He will say to him: For you is what you wished, and the like of it along with it.

Lessons

  • It shows that the people of Paradise are of various ranks.
  • Highlighting the greatness of Allah's generosity.
  • The bliss of Paradise is not restricted to anything specific; rather, the believer will find in it everything he wishes for and desires as a favor, bounty, and generosity from Allah Almighty.

Explanation in Arabic

أخبر النبيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أن أدنى وأقل منزلة ومرتبة لمن دخل الجنة أن يقول له: تمن، فيتمنى، ويتمنى، حتى لا يبقى له أمنية إلا وذكرها، فيقول له: هل تمنيت؟ فيقول: نعم، فيقول له: فإن لك ما تمنيت ومثله معه.

  • تفاوت منازل أهل الجنة.
  • بيان عظم كرم الله سبحانه وتعالى.
  • لا ينحصر نعيم الجنة على شيء معين، بل يجد فيها المؤمن كل ما يتمناه وتشتهيه نفسه فضلًا وجودًا وكرمًا من عند الله تعالى.
