حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ، اللَّهِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ح وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ، الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَمْ كَانَ صَدَاقُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَتْ

كَانَ صَدَاقُهُ لأَزْوَاجِهِ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً وَنَشًّا ‏.‏

Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abdur-Rahmān reported: I asked ‘Ā'ishah: "How much was the dowry paid by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)?" She said: "His dowry for his wives was twelve Uqiyyahs and one Nashsh. Do you know what is the Nashsh?" I said: 'No.' She said: "It is a half Uqiyyah, so this equals five hundred dirhams, and it was the dowry that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) paid to his wives."

Explanation

The main point of this Hadīth is that it is recommended to pay a simple dowry, for the best dowry is the least in amount, and the best women are those who cost less charges. This Hadīth also indicates that the Prophet's dowry to his wives was twelve Uqiyyahs and a half. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was the perfect example in terms of traditions and acts of worship. One Uqiyyah comprises forty dirhams. So the whole amount that he paid to his wives were 500 dirhams. This is contrary to what people do today, exaggerating about dowries. They also boast about what they pay to the woman and her guardians, whether or not the husband is rich, the thing that has lead to delaying marriages.

موضوع الحديث استحباب تخفيف الصداق، وأنَّ ذلك هو المشروع؛ فخير الصداق أيسره، وخير النِّساء أيسرهن مؤنة، وفيه أن صداق النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لزوجاته غالبًا اثنتا عشرة أوقية ونصف الأوقية، وهو صلى الله عليه وسلم القدوة الكاملة في العادات والعبادات، والأوقية أربعون درهمًا، فيكون خمسمائة درهم، وهذا خلاف ما يفعله الناس اليوم من المغالاة في المهور، والتفاخر بما يدفعون إلى المرأة وأوليائها، سواء أكان الزوج غنيًا أم فقيرًا، فهو يريد أن لا ينقص عن غيره في هذا المجال، مما أدى لتأخير الزواج.

  • الحديث فيه أصل مشروعية الصداق في النكاح، وأنه لابد منه، سواء سمِّي في العقد أو لم يسم، فإن سمي فهو على ما اتَّفق عليه الزوجان، وإن لم يسم فللزوجة مهر المثل.
  • الصداق يُعد عطية وهدية، يُكرِمُ بها الرجل زوجته عند دخوله عليها، ومقابلته لها، جبرًا لخاطرها، وإشعارًا بقدْرها، وليس هو مجرَّد عوض.
  • استحباب تخفيف المهور إقتداءً بالنبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم-.
  • حرص السلف على العلم, وذلك ظاهر في سؤال أبي سلمة لعائشة -رضي الله عنها-.
  • جواز مخاطبة الرجل المرأة إذا كان لمصلحة؛ لأنه خاطب عائشة وسألها.
  • أن صوت المرأة ليس بعورة.
  • أنه ينبغي للمفتي إذا تكلم مع المستفتي بشيء يظنه جاهلا به أن يبينه.
  • أن من طرق التعليم السؤال لأنها سألته: أتدري ما النش؟
