حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْهَادِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ - رضى الله عنها - عَنْ صَدَاقِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَتْ

ثِنْتَا عَشْرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً وَنَشٌّ ‏.‏ فَقُلْتُ وَمَا نَشٌّ قَالَتْ نِصْفُ أُوقِيَّةٍ

Abu Salamah said “I asked A’ishah about the dower given by the Apostle of Allaah(ﷺ). She said “It was twelve Uqiyahs and a nashsh”. I asked “What is nashsh?” She said it is half an uqiyah.

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( فَقَالَتْ : ثِنْتَا عَشْرَة ) : بِسُكُونِ الشِّين وَيُكْسَر ( أُوقِيَّة ) : بِضَمِّ الْهَمْزَة وَتَشْدِيد الْمُثَنَّاة التَّحْتِيَّة وَهِيَ أَرْبَعُونَ دِرْهَمًا ( وَنَشّ ) : بِفَتْحِ النُّون وَشِين مُعْجَمَة مُشَدَّدَة أَيْ مَعَهَا نَشّ أَوْ يُزَاد نَشّ. قَالَ اِبْن الْأَعْرَابِيّ : النَّشّ , النِّصْف مِنْ كُلّ شَيْء , وَنَشّ الرَّغِيف نِصْفه. قَالَ الْخَطَّابِيّ : النَّشّ عِشْرُونَ دِرْهَمًا وَهُوَ اِسْم مَوْضُوع لِهَذَا الْقَدْر مِنْ الدَّرَاهِم غَيْر مُشْتَقّ مِنْ شَيْء سِوَاهُ. قَالَ النَّوَوِيّ : اِسْتَدَلَّ أَصْحَابنَا بِهَذَا الْحَدِيث عَلَى اِسْتِحْبَاب كَوْن الْمَهْر خَمْس مِائَة دِرْهَم , وَالْمُرَاد فِي حَقّ مَنْ يَحْتَمِل ذَلِكَ. فَإِنْ قِيلَ : فَصَدَاق أُمّ حَبِيبَة زَوْج الن…

Abu Salamah said: “I asked Aishah: 'How much was the dowry of the wives of the Prophet?' She said: 'The dowry he gave to his wives was twelve Uqiyyah and a Nash (of silver). Do you know what a Nash is? It is one half of an Uqiyyah. And that is equal to to five hundred Dirham.' ”

كَانَ صَدَاقُهُ فِي أَزْوَاجِهِ اثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً وَنَشًّا هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا النَّشُّ هُوَ نِصْفُ أُوقِيَّةٍ وَذَلِكَ خَمْسُمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ ‏.‏
