وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَرَّادٍ الأَشْعَرِيُّ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏

لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يَطُوفُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهِ بِالصَّدَقَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ ثُمَّ لاَ يَجِدُ أَحَدًا يَأْخُذُهَا مِنْهُ وَيُرَى الرَّجُلُ الْوَاحِدُ يَتْبَعُهُ أَرْبَعُونَ امْرَأَةً يَلُذْنَ بِهِ مِنْ قِلَّةِ الرِّجَالِ وَكَثْرَةِ النِّسَاءِ ‏"

Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will come when a man will go about with charity of gold and not find anyone to receive it. One man will be seen being followed by forty women dependent upon him on account of the scarcity of men and the high number of women."

Explanation

Money will increase so abundantly that no one will be found to take it. Men will decrease and women will increase, either due to wars or because more women will be born, to such an extent that for one man, there will be forty women, including daughters, sisters, and relatives, who will depend on him.

Explanation in Arabic

سيكثر المال بين يدي الناس حتى لا يوجد من يأخذه، وسيقل الرجال ويكثر النساء إما بسبب الحروب الطاحنة وإما لكثرة ولادة النساء، حتى يكون للرجل الواحد أربعون امرأة، من بنات وأخوات وشبههن من القريبات يلتجئن إليه ويستغثن به.

  • الحض على التبكير في إخراج الصدقات.
  • الإشارة إلى كثرة المال بين يدي الناس حتى لا يوجد من يأخذه في آخر الزمان.
  • الإشارة إلى كثرة الحروب والقتل في آخر الزمان مما يؤدي إلى قتل الرجال فيقلون ويكثر النساء.

قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ( يَطُوف الرَّجُل بِصَدَقَتِهِ مِنْ الذَّهَب ) إِنَّمَا هَذَا يَتَضَمَّن التَّنْبِيه عَلَى مَا سِوَاهُ ; لِأَنَّهُ إِذَا كَانَ الذَّهَب لَا يَقْبَلهُ أَحَدٌ , فَكَيْف الظَّنُّ بِغَيْرِهِ ؟ وَقَوْله صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ( يَطُوف ) إِشَارَة إِلَى أَنَّهُ يَتَرَدَّد بِهَا بَيْن النَّاس , فَلَا يَجِد مَنْ يَقْبَلُهَا فَتَحْصُل الْمُبَالَغَةُ وَالتَّنْبِيه عَلَى عَدَم قَبُول الصَّدَقَة بِثَلَاثَةِ أَشْيَاء : كَوْنه يَعْرِضهَا , وَيَطُوف بِهَا , وَهِيَ ذَهَبٌ. قَوْله : ( وَيَرَى الرَّجُل الْوَاحِد ) ثُمَّ قَالَ : وَفِي رِوَايَة اِبْن بَرَّاد ( وَتَرَى ) هَكَذَا هُوَ فِي جَمِيع النُّسَخ , الْأَوَّل ( يُرَى ) بِضَمِّ الْيَاء الْمُثَنَّاة تَح…

Give Sadaqa for a time is about to come when a person would walk with alms and the one whom it is to be given would say: Had you brought it yesterday, I would have accepted it. For the present I do not need it. (And the giver of Sadaqa) I would not find anyone to accept it.

تَصَدَّقُوا فَيُوشِكُ الرَّجُلُ يَمْشِي بِصَدَقَتِهِ فَيَقُولُ الَّذِي أُعْطِيَهَا لَوْ جِئْتَنَا بِهَا بِالأَمْسِ قَبِلْتُهَا فَأَمَّا الآنَ فَلاَ حَاجَةَ لِي بِهَا ‏.‏ فَلاَ يَجِدُ مَنْ يَقْبَلُهَا ‏"
