Mishkat al-Masabih 76

Verily your people would constantly question about this and that till they would say: Well, it is Allah Who created the creation, but who created Allah?

إِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لاَ يَزَالُونَ يَقُولُونَ مَا كَذَا مَا كَذَا حَتَّى يَقُولُوا هَذَا اللَّهُ خَلَقَ الْخَلْقَ فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ ‏"‏ ‏

Narrated by Anas ibn Mālik

Anas ibn Malik said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'People will continue to ask about things that do not exist to such an extent that they will say, "Allah created everything, so who created Allah?"'"

وَعَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ السَّكُونِيِّ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَرْزُبَانَ قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ‏:‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ لَنْ يَبْرَحَ النَّاسُ…

Satan comes to one of you and says, 'Who created such and such, and who created such and such', until he says: 'Who created your Lord?' If a person experiences this, he should seek refuge with Allah and desist from that

يَأْتِي الشَّيْطَانُ أَحَدَكُمْ فَيَقُولُ مَنْ خَلَقَ كَذَا مَنْ خَلَقَ كَذَا حَتَّى يَقُولَ مَنْ خَلَقَ رَبَّكَ فَإِذَا بَلَغَهُ فَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ، وَلْيَنْتَهِ ‏"

People will continue to ask one another(questions) till this is pronounced: Allah created all things, but who created Allah ? Whoever comes across anything of that, he should say: I believe in Allah.

لاَ يَزَالُ النَّاسُ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ حَتَّى يُقَالَ هَذَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ فَمَنْ وَجَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا فَلْيَقُلْ آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ ‏"

I heard Abu Huraira saying that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: people will certainly ask you about everything till they will propound: Allah created every thing, but who created Allah?

لَيَسْأَلَنَّكُمُ النَّاسُ عَنْ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا اللَّهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ فَمَنْ خَلَقَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
