Chapter: The Sunnah Regarding The Adhan

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ
كَانَ بِلاَلٌ لاَ يُؤَخِّرُ الأَذَانَ عَنِ الْوَقْتِ وَرُبُّمَا أَخَّرَ الإِقَامَةَ شَيْئًا .
It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:
"Bilal did not delay the Adhan from its proper time, but he sometimes delayed the Iqamah a little."
Reported by Ibn Majah (No. 713).
Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah
قَوْله ( لَا يَخْرِم ) مِنْ خَرَمَ كَضَرَبَ إِذَا نَقَصَ أَوْ قَطَعَ يُقَال مَا خَرَمْت مِنْهُ شَيْئًا أَيْ مَا نَقَصْت وَلَا قَطَعْت وَالْمُرَاد أَنَّهُ كَانَ غَالِبًا يُؤَذِّن فِي الْوَقْت الْمُعْتَاد لَا يُؤَخِّر عَنْهُ وَقَدْ جَاءَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُؤَخِّر الْأَذَان أَحْيَانًا كَمَا جَاءَ فِي أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْرِدْ أَبْرِدْ حِين أَرَادَ أَنْ يُؤَذِّن.…
