حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ الأَزْرَقُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏

"‏ إِنَّ أَحْسَنَ مَا زُرْتُمُ اللَّهَ بِهِ فِي قُبُورِكُمْ وَمَسَاجِدِكُمُ الْبَيَاضُ ‏"

It was narrated from Abu Darda’ that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“The best of that in which you visit Allah in your graves and your mosque is white (garments).”*

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah

قَوْله ( إِنَّ أَحْسَن مَا زُرْتُمْ اللَّه بِهِ ) أَيْ دَخَلْتُمْ بِهِ فِي مَحَلّ رَحْمَته وَرِضْوَانه وَكَرَامَته كَالزَّائِرِ إِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَى الْمَزُور يَكُون فِي كَرَامَته وَفِي الزَّوَائِد إِسْنَاده ضَعِيف شُرَيْحُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ لَمْ يَسْمَع مِنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَهُ فِي التَّهْذِيب.…

Abud Darda’ reported God’s messenger as saying, “The best thing in which to visit God in your graves and in your mosques is white." Ibn Majah transmitted it.

وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ أَحْسَنَ مَا زُرْتُمُ اللَّهَ فِي قُبُورِكُمْ وَمَسَاجِدِكُمُ الْبَيَاضُ» . رَوَاهُ ابْن مَاجَه

وعن ابن عباس رضى الله عنهما أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ إلبسوا من ثيابكم البياض؛ فإنها من خير ثيابكم، وكفنوا فيها موتاكم‏"‏.‏((رواه أبو داود والترمذي))

Authentic Sunan an-Nasa'i 5323

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'You should wear white garments; dress your living ones in them, and shroud your dead in them, for they are among the best of your garments.'"

"‏ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْبَيَاضِ مِنَ الثِّيَابِ فَلْيَلْبَسْهَا أَحْيَاؤُكُمْ وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ ‏"
