حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُ الْحَجَّ وَلاَ الْعُمْرَةَ وَلاَ الظَّعَنَ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏

"‏ حُجَّ عَنْ أَبِيكَ وَاعْتَمِرْ ‏"

It was narrated from Abu Razin Al-‘Uqaili that he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said:

“O Messenger of Allah, my father is an old man and he cannot perform Hajj or ‘Umrah, and he is not able to ride the mount (due to old age).” He said: “Perform Hajj and ‘Umrah on behalf of your father.”

قَوْله ( وَلَا الظَّعْن ) بِفَتْحَتَيْنِ أَوْ سُكُون الثَّانِي وَالْأُولَى مُعْجَمَة وَالثَّانِيَة مُهْمَلَة مَصْدَر ظَعَنَ يَظْعُن بِالضَّمِّ إِذَا سَافَرَ وَفِي الْجَمْع الظَّعْن الرَّاحِلَة أَيْ لَا يَقْوَى عَلَى السَّيْر وَلَا عَلَى الرُّكُوب مِنْ كِبَر السِّنّ قَالَ الْإِمَام أَحْمَدُ لَا أَعْلَم فِي إِيجَاب الْعُمْرَة حَدِيثًا أَجْوَد مِنْ هَذَا وَأَصَحّ مِنْهُ وَلَا يَخْفَى أَنَّ الْحَجّ وَالْعُمْرَة عَنْ الْغَيْر لَيْسَا بِوَاجِبَيْنِ عَلَى الْفَاعِل فَالظَّاهِر حَمْل الْأَمْر عَلَى النَّدْب وَحِينَئِذٍ دَلَالَة الْحَدِيث عَلَى وُجُوب الْعُمْرَة خَفَاؤُهَا لَا يَخْفَى.…

Messenger of Allah, my father is very old. There is an old obligation of Hajj upon him from Allah, but he is not capable of sitting on the back of the camel. Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Perform Hajj on his behalf.

أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ عَلَيْهِ فَرِيضَةُ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ وَهُوَ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَوِيَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ فَحُجِّي عَنْهُ ‏"
