حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ:

أَفْطَرْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فِي يَوْمِ غَيْمٍ ثُمَّ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Asma’ bint Abu Bakr said:

“We broke our fast on a cloudy day at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), then the sun appeared.”

I (one of the narrators) said to Hisham: "Were they commanded to make up for that day?" He said: "It had to be made up." (According to Hisham's opinion).

Reported by Ibn Majah (No. 1674), Abu Dawud (No. 2359) and Ahmad (No. 25690).

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah

قَوْله ( فَلَا بُدّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ) أَيْ أَبَد مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَهُ لَا بُدّ مِنْهُ وَلَا غِنَى عَنْهُ وَالْحَدِيث يَدُلّ عَلَى أَنَّ الْخَطَأ لَيْسَ كَالنِّسْيَانِ بَلْ فِيهِ الْقَضَاء وَقِيلَ هَذَا اِجْتِهَاد مِنْ هِشَام لَا رِوَايَة لِلْحَدِيثِ فَيَحْتَمِل أَنْ يَكُون خَطَأ.…

We broke the fast one during Ramadan when it was cloudy in the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ; then the sun rose. Abu Usamah said: I said to Hisham: Were they commanded to atone for it ? He replied: That was inevitable.

أَفْطَرْنَا يَوْمًا فِي رَمَضَانَ فِي غَيْمٍ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ
