حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏

"‏ كَسْرُ عَظْمِ الْمَيِّتِ كَكَسْرِهِ حَيًّا ‏"

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Breaking the bones of the deceased is like breaking his bones when he is alive.”

Reported by Ibn Majah (No. 1616), Abu Dawud (No. 3207) and Ahmad (No. 23596).

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah

قَوْله ( كَسْر عَظْم الْمَيِّت ) قَالَ السُّيُوطِي فِي حَاشِيَة أَبِي دَاوُدَ فِي بَيَان سَبَب الْحَدِيثِينَ قَالَ جَابِر خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جِنَازَة فَجَلَسَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى شَفِير الْقَبْر وَجَلَسْنَا مَعَهُ فَأَخْرُج الْحَفَّار عِظَامًا سَاقًا أَوْ عَضُدًا فَذَهَبَ لِيَكْسِرَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَكْسِرْهَا فَإِنَّ كَسِرِّك إِيَّاهَا مَيِّتًا كَكَسْرِك إِيَّاهَا حَيًّا وَلَكِنْ دُسَّهُ فِي جَانِب الْقَبْر.…

Good (hasan) Mishkat al-Masabih 1714

‘A’isha reported God’s messenger as saying, “Breaking a dead man’s bone is like breaking it when he is alive.” Malik, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «كَسْرُ عَظْمِ الْمَيِّتِ كَكَسْرِهِ حَيًّا» . رَوَاهُ مَالِكٌ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ
