وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- عَنِ اَلنَّبِيِّ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-قَالَ: { مَنْ أَخَذَ أَمْوَالَ اَلنَّاسِ يُرِيدُ أَدَاءَهَا, أَدَّى اَللَّهُ عَنْهُ, وَمَنْ أَخَذَهَا 1‏ يُرِيدُ إِتْلَافَهَا, أَتْلَفَهُ اَللَّهُ } رَوَاهُ اَلْبُخَارِيُّ 2‏ .‏

Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA):

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever accepts other people's wealth intending to pay it back, Allah will pay it back for him. And whoever accepts it intending to waste it, Allah, the Most High, will waste (destroy) him." [Reported by al-Bukhari].

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever takes the money of the people with the intention of repaying it, Allah will repay it on his behalf, and whoever takes it in order to spoil it, then Allah will spoil him."

مَنْ أَخَذَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ يُرِيدُ أَدَاءَهَا أَدَّى اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، وَمَنْ أَخَذَ يُرِيدُ إِتْلاَفَهَا أَتْلَفَهُ اللَّهُ ‏"

Authentic Mishkat al-Masabih 2910

Abu Huraira reported the Prophet as saying, “If anyone accepts other people’s belongings meaning to pay back, God will pay back for him; but if anyone accepts them meaning to squander them, God will on that account destroy his property.” Bukhari transmitted it.
