يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَقُمْتُ أُصَلِّي مَعَهُ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ، فَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِي فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ‏.‏

Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I stayed overnight in the house of my aunt Maymūnah. When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) stood to perform Prayer at night, I joined him and stood on his left. He then took me by the head and made me stand on his right.

Explanation

The great Companion Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him) stated that he slept one night in the house of his maternal aunt, who is the Prophet's wife to learn about the Prophet's late-night prayer. When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) got up and stood to pray at night, Ibn ‘Abbās joined him in prayer and stood on the Prophet's left side to follow him in prayer. Since the right side is the most honorable of the two sides and the proper position where the one who prays behind an Imām should stand, in case he is one person, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) took him by the head, turned him from his behind and made him stand on his right.

يخبر الصحابي الجليل ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما أنه بات عند خالته زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ؛ ليطلع -بنفسه- على تهجد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فلما قام صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي من الليل، قام ابن عباس معه؛ ليصلي بصلاته، وصار عن يسار النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مأمومًا؛ ولأن اليمين هو الأشرف، وهو موقف المأموم من الإمام إذا كان واحدًا، أخذ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم برأسه، فأداره من ورائه، فأقامه عن يمينه.

  • جواز المبيت عند المحارم مع الزوج، إذا كان لا يتضرر بذلك.
  • مشروعية صلاة الليل واستحبابها.
  • جواز الجماعة في صلاة التطوع أحيانًا.
  • صحة وقوف المأموم عن يسار الإمام مع خلو يمينه؛ لكون النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- لم يبطل صلاة ابن عباس.
  • الأفضل للمأموم أن يقف عن يمين الإمام إذا كان واحدا.
  • أنَّ المأموم الواحد إذا وقف عن يسار الإمام فاستدار إلى يمينه يأتي من الخلف، كما ورد في بعض ألفاظ الحديث في البخاري.
  • أنَّ العمل والحركة في الصلاة إذا كان مشروعا لصحتها، لا يضرها.
  • صحة مصافة الصبي وحده مع البالغ.
  • اجتهاد ابن عباس -رضي الله عنهما-، وحرصه على تحصيل العلم وتحقيقه.
  • لا يشترط لصحة الإمامة، أن ينوي الإمام قبل الدخول في الصلاة أنَّه إمام.
