حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏

فِي الْجُمُعَةِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُوَافِقُهَا مُسْلِمٌ وَهْوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ خَيْرًا إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ ‏"

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Abu-l-Qasim (the Prophet) said, "On Friday there is a particular time. If a Muslim happens to be praying and invoking Allah for something good during that time, Allah will surely fulfill his request." The Prophet (ﷺ) pointed out with his hand. We thought that he wanted to illustrate how short that time was.

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله ( يَسْأَل اللَّه خَيْرًا ) يُقَيِّد قَوْله فِي رِوَايَة الْأَعْرَج " شَيْئًا " وَأَنَّ الْفَضْل الْمَذْكُور لِمَنْ يَسْأَل الْخَيْر , فَيَخْرُج الشَّرّ مِثْل الدُّعَاء بِالْإِثْمِ وَقَطِيعَة الرَّحِم وَنَحْو ذَلِكَ. وَقَوْله " وَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ " فِيهِ إِطْلَاق الْقَوْل عَلَى الْفِعْل , وَقَدْ وَقَعَ فِي رِوَايَة الْأَعْرَج " وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ ". قَوْله ( قُلْنَا يُقَلِّلهَا يُزَهِّدهَا ) يَحْتَمِل أَنْ يَكُون قَوْله يُزَهِّدهَا وَقَعَ تَأْكِيدًا لِقَوْلِهِ يُقَلِّلهَا , وَإِلَى ذَلِكَ أَشَارَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ. وَيَحْتَمِل أَنْ يَكُون قَالَ أَحَد اللَّفْظَيْنِ فَجَمَعَهُمَا الرَّاوِي. ثُمَّ وَجَدْته عِنْد الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيّ مِنْ رِوَايَة أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ زُهَيْر بْن حَرْب " يُقَلِّلهَا و…

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘On Friday there is a time when no Muslim man happens to stand in prayer at that time, asking Allah for good things, but He will give that to him.” And he gestured with his hand to indicate how short that time is.

There is a time on Friday at which no Muslim would stand and pray and beg Allah for what Is good but He would give it to him; and he pointed with his hand that (this time) is short and narrow.
