حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏

مَنْ حَلَفَ مِنْكُمْ فَقَالَ فِي حَلِفِهِ بِاللاَّتِ وَالْعُزَّى‏.‏ فَلْيَقُلْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ‏.‏ وَمَنْ قَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ تَعَالَ أُقَامِرْكَ‏.‏ فَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ ‏"

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever among you takes an oath wherein he says, 'By Al-Lat and Al-`Uzza,' names of two Idols worshipped by the Pagans, he should say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah; And whoever says to his friend, 'Come, let me gamble with you ! He should give something in charity. " (See Hadith No. 645)

حَدِيث أَبِي هُرَيْرَة وَفِيهِ " وَمَنْ قَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ تَعَالَ أُقَامِرك " الْحَدِيث. وَأَشَارَ بِذَلِكَ إِلَى أَنَّ الْقِمَار مِنْ جُمْلَة اللَّهْو , وَمَنْ دَعَا إِلَيْهِ دَعَا إِلَى الْمَعْصِيَة , فَلِذَلِكَ أَمَرَ بِالتَّصَدُّقِ لِيُكَفِّر عَنْهُ تِلْكَ الْمَعْصِيَة ; لِأَنَّ مَنْ دَعَا إِلَى مَعْصِيَة وَقَعَ بِدُعَائِهِ إِلَيْهَا فِي مَعْصِيَة. وَقَالَ الْكَرْمَانِيُّ : وَجْه تَعَلُّق هَذَا الْحَدِيث بِالتَّرْجَمَةِ وَالتَّرْجَمَة بِالِاسْتِئْذَانِ أَنَّ الدَّاعِي إِلَى الْقِمَار لَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُؤْذَن لَهُ فِي دُخُول الْمَنْزِل , ثُمَّ لِكَوْنِهِ يَتَضَمَّن اِجْتِمَاع النَّاس , وَمُنَاسَبَة بَقِيَّة حَدِيث الْبَاب لِلتَّرْجَمَةِ أَنَّ الْحَلِف بِاَللَّاتِ لَهْو يَشْغَل عَنْ الْح…

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone swears on oath is the course which he says: "By al-Lat" he should say: There is no god but Allah, and that if anyone says to his friend: Come and let me play for money with you, he should give something in charity (sadaqah).

مَنْ حَلَفَ فَقَالَ فِي حَلِفِهِ وَاللاَّتِ فَلْيَقُلْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ قَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ تَعَالَ أُقَامِرْكَ فَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ بِشَىْءٍ ‏"

Abu Huraira reported the Prophet as saying that if anyone swears an oath in the course of which he says, “By al-Lat and al-‘Uzza”, he should say, “There is no god but God”; and that if anyone says to his friend, “Come and let me play for money with you”, he should pay sadaqa. (Bukhari and Muslim.)
