حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ كَانَتْ إِذَا أُتِيَتْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ قَدْ حُمَّتْ تَدْعُو لَهَا، أَخَذَتِ الْمَاءَ فَصَبَّتْهُ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ جَيْبِهَا قَالَتْ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نَبْرُدَهَا بِالْمَاءِ‏.‏

Narrated Fatima bint Al-Mundhir:

Whenever a lady suffering from fever was brought to Asma' bint Abu Bakr, she used to invoke Allah for her and then sprinkle some water on her body, at the chest and say, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to order us to abate fever with water."

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله : ( عَنْ هِشَام ) هُوَ اِبْن عُرْوَة بْن الزُّبَيْر , وَفَاطِمَة بِنْت الْمُنْذِر أَيْ اِبْن الزُّبَيْر هِيَ بِنْت عَمّه وَزَوْجَته , وَأَسْمَاء بِنْت أَبِي بَكْر جَدَّتهمَا لِأَبَوَيْهِمَا مَعًا. قَوْله : ( بَيْنهَا وَبَيْن جَيْبهَا ) بِفَتْحِ الْجِيم وَسُكُون التَّحْتَانِيَّة بَعْدهَا مُوَحَّدَة : هُوَ مَا يَكُون مُفْرَجًا مِنْ الثَّوْب كَالْكُمِّ وَالطَّوْق , وَفِي رِوَايَة عَبْدَة عَنْ هِشَام عِنْد مُسْلِم " فَتَصُبّهُ فِي جَيْبهَا ". قَوْله : ( أَنْ نَبْرُدهَا ) بِفَتْحِ أَوَّله وَضَمِّ الرَّاء الْخَفِيفَة , وَفِي رِوَايَة لِأَبِي ذَرّ بِضَمِّ أَوَّله وَفَتْح الْمُوَحَّدَة وَتَشْدِيد الرَّاء مِنْ التَّبْرِيد , وَهُوَ بِمَعْنَى رِوَايَة أَبْرِدْ بِهَمْزَةٍ مَقْطُوعَة , زَادَ عَبْد…

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "When the heat is fierce, wait until it gets cooler before you do the prayer, for scorching heat is from the blast of Jahannam."

"‏ إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ ‏"

Abu Khulda reported that he heard Anas ibn Malik when he was with al-Hakam, the amir of Basra, on a seat. He said, "When the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was hot, he delayed the prayer until a cooler time of the day. When it was cold, he made the prayer early."
