حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُلَيْحٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَىٍّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

‏"‏ مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَمَثَلِ الْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَتَتْهَا الرِّيحُ كَفَأَتْهَا، فَإِذَا اعْتَدَلَتْ تَكَفَّأُ بِالْبَلاَءِ، وَالْفَاجِرُ كَالأَرْزَةِ صَمَّاءَ مُعْتَدِلَةً حَتَّى يَقْصِمَهَا اللَّهُ إِذَا شَاءَ ‏"

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it, but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities (but he remains patient till Allah removes his difficulties.) And an impious wicked person is like a pine tree which keeps hard and straight till Allah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes." (See Hadith No. 558, Vol. 9.)

قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ) هُوَ فُلَيْح بْن سُلَيْمَان. قَوْله : ( عَنْ هِلَال بْن عَلِيّ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِر بْن لُؤَيّ ) كَذَا فِيهِ , وَلَيْسَ هُوَ مِنْ أَنْفُسهمْ وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مِنْ مَوَالِيهمْ وَاسْم جَدّه أُسَامَة وَقَدْ يُنْسَب إِلَى جَدّه , وَيُقَال لَهُ أَيْضًا هِلَال بْن أَبِي مَيْمُونَة وَهِلَال بْن أَبِي هِلَال , وَهُوَ مَدَنِيّ تَابِعِيّ صَغِير مُوَثَّق , وَفِي الرُّوَاة هِلَال بْن أَبِي هِلَال سَلَمَة الْفِهْرِيّ تَابِعِيّ مَدَنِيّ أَيْضًا يَرْوِي عَنْ اِبْن عُمَر , وَرَوَى عَنْهُ أُسَامَة بْن زَيْد اللَّيْثِيّ وَحْده , وَوَهِمَ مَنْ خَلَطَهُ بِهِلَالِ بْن عَلِيّ. وَفِيهِمْ أَيْضًا هِلَال بْن أَبِي هِلَال مَذْحِجِيّ تَابِعِيّ أَيْضًا يَرْوِي عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة , وَهِلَال ب…

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant, which the wind bends lt sometimes and some other time it makes it straight. And the example of a hypocrite is that of a pine tree which keeps straight till once it is uprooted suddenly.

The Similitude of a believer is that of (a standing) crop which the air continues to toss from one side to another; in the same way a believer always (receives the strokes) of misfortune. The similitude of a hypocrite is that of a cypress tree which does not move until it is uprooted.

مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَمَثَلِ الزَّرْعِ لاَ تَزَالُ الرِّيحُ تُمِيلُهُ وَلاَ يَزَالُ الْمُؤْمِنُ يُصِيبُهُ الْبَلاَءُ وَمَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ شَجَرَةِ الأَرْزِ لاَ تَهْتَزُّ حَتَّى تَسْتَحْصِدَ ‏"
