حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، قَالَتِ الأَنْصَارُ‏:‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ

لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ أَتْبَاعٌ، وَإِنَّا قَدِ اتَّبَعْنَاكَ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ أَتْبَاعَنَا مِنَّا‏.‏ فَدَعَا بِهِ‏.‏ فَنَمَيْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى‏.‏ قَالَ قَدْ زَعَمَ ذَلِكَ زَيْدٌ‏.‏

Narrated Zaid bin Al-Arqam:

The Annwar said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Every prophet has his own followers and we have followed you. So will you invoke Allah to let our followers be considered from us (as Ansar too)?" So he invoked Allah accordingly.

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله : ( عَنْ عَمْرو ) هُوَ اِبْن مُرَّة كَمَا فِي الرِّوَايَة الَّتِي تَلِيهَا. قَوْله : ( سَمِعْت أَبَا حَمْزَة ) بِالْمُهْمَلَةِ وَالزَّاي اِسْمه طَلْحَة بْن يَزِيد مَوْلَى قَرَظَة بْن كَعْب الْأَنْصَارِيّ , وَقَرَظَة بِفَتْحِ الْقَاف وَالرَّاء وَالظَّاء الْمُعْجَمَة صَحَابِيّ مَعْرُوف , وَهُوَ اِبْن كَعْب بْن ثَعْلَبَة بْن عَمْرو بْن كَعْب أَوْ عَامِر بْن زَيْد , أَنْصَارِيّ خَزْرَجِيّ , مَاتَ فِي وِلَايَة الْمُغِيرَة عَلَى الْكُوفَة لِمُعَاوِيَةَ وَذَلِكَ فِي حُدُود سَنَة خَمْسِينَ. قَوْله : ( أَنْ يَجْعَل أَتْبَاعنَا مِنَّا ) أَيْ يُقَال لَهُمْ الْأَنْصَار حَتَّى تَتَنَاوَلهُمْ الْوَصِيَّة بِهِمْ بِالْإِحْسَانِ إِلَيْهِمْ وَنَحْو ذَلِكَ. قَوْله : ( فَدَعَا بِهِ ) أَيْ بِمَا سَأَلُوا…

Zaid b. Arqam told that when the Ansar said, "Prophet of God, every prophet has followers and we have followed you, so beseech God to appoint that our followers should be of our stock," he did so. Bukhari transmitted it.

وَعَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ: قَالَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ أَتْبَاعٌ وَإِنَّا قَدِ اتَّبَعْنَاكَ فَادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ أَتْبَاعَنَا منا فَدَعَا بِهِ " رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ

Authentic Sahih al-Bukhari 3788

(A man from the Ansar) The Ansar said, "Every nation has followers and (O Prophet) we have followed you, so invoke Allah to let our followers be considered from us (as Ansar like ourselves)." So the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Allah! Let their followers be considered as Ansar like themselves."

إِنَّ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ أَتْبَاعًا، وَإِنَّا قَدِ اتَّبَعْنَاكَ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ أَتْبَاعَنَا مِنَّا‏.‏ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ أَتْبَاعَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ ‏"
