Narrator:Anas ibn Mālik

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ رَأَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم النِّسَاءَ وَالصِّبْيَانَ مُقْبِلِينَ ـ قَالَ حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مِنْ عُرُسٍ ـ فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُمْثِلاً، فَقَالَ ‏

"‏ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتُمْ مِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ إِلَىَّ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَهَا ثَلاَثَ مِرَارٍ

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet (ﷺ) saw the women and children (of the Ansar) coming forward. (The sub-narrator said, "I think that Anas said, 'They were returning from a wedding party.") The Prophet (ﷺ) stood up and said thrice, "By Allah! You are from the most beloved people to me."

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله : ( حَسِبْت أَنَّهُ قَالَ مِنْ عُرْس ) الشَّكّ فِيهِ مِنْ الرَّاوِي. قَوْله : ( فَقَامَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُمْثِلًا ) بِضَمِّ أَوَّله وَسُكُون ثَانِيه وَكَسْر الْمُثَلَّثَة , قَالَ اِبْن التِّين : كَذَا وَقَعَ رُبَاعِيًّا. وَاَلَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ أَهْل اللُّغَة : مَثُلَ الرَّجُل بِفَتْحِ الْمِيم وَضَمّ الْمُثَلَّثَة مُثُولًا إِذَا اِنْتَصَبَ قَائِمًا , ثُلَاثِيّ , اِنْتَهَى. وَفِي رِوَايَة تَأْتِي فِي " النِّكَاح مُمَثَّلًا بِالتَّشْدِيدِ أَيْ مُكَلِّفًا نَفْسه ذَلِكَ فَلِذَلِكَ عَدَّى فِعْله قَالَهُ عِيَاض , وَوَقَعَ فِي النِّكَاح بِلَفْظِ " مُمْتِنًا " بِضَمِّ أَوَّله وَسُكُون ثَانِيه وَكَسْر الْمُثَنَّاة بَعْدهَا نُون أَيْ طَوِيلًا , أَوْ هُوَ مِنْ الْمِنَّة أَ…

O Allah, (bear witness) (and addressing the Ansar), said: You are dearest to me amongst people, (and said: O Allah (bear witness) (and addressing the Ansar), said: You are dearest to me amongst people. And he meant Ansar.

Anas told that when the Prophet saw some boys and women coming from a wedding he stood up and said, "You are indeed among the people dearest to me; you are indeed among the people dearest to me," the reference being to the Ansar. (Bukhari and Muslim.)
