Chapter: When a woman having bleeding in between her periods notices signs of cleanliness from her menses

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏

إِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلاَةَ، وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ وَصَلِّي ‏"

Narrated `Aisha:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, "Give up the prayer when your menses begin and when it has finished, wash the blood off your body (take a bath) and start praying."

Explanation in Arabic

كانَتْ نِساءُ الصَّحابةِ رَضيَ اللهُ عنهنَّ مع عِظَمِ حيائِهنَّ يَسأَلْنَ النبيَّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ عمَّا يَختصِصْنَ به ويَحدُثُ لهنَّ مِن مَسائِلَ تَتعلَّقُ بالطَّهارةِ؛ مِن الحَيضِ والاستحاضةِ. وفي هذا الحديثِ تَروي عائشةُ أمُّ المؤمنينَ رَضيَ اللهُ عنها أنَّ فاطِمةَ بنتَ أبي حُبَيْشٍ رَضيَ اللهُ عنها جاءتْ إلى النبيِّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ فقالتْ: إنِّي امرأةٌ أُسْتَحاضُ فلا أطْهُرُ، أي: لا يَنقطِعُ عنِّي الدَّمُ، والاسْتِحاضةُ: دَمٌ فاسِدٌ يَخْرُجُ زِيادةً مِنَ المرأةِ بعْدَ انْتِهاءِ فَتْرةِ حَيضِها الطَّبيعيَّةِ، ثمَّ سأَلَتْ: هل يكونُ ذلك الدَّمُ في حُكمِ الحيضِ، فأتْرُكَ الصَّلاةَ إلى انقطاعِه؟ فبيَّنَ لها النبيُّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ أنَّ ذلك الدَّمَ دمُ استحاضةٍ، وهو دمٌ مَرَضيٌّ يَنشَأُ عن انقطاعِ عِرقٍ في الرَّحِمِ يُسمَّى العاذِلَ، وليس ذلك الدَّمُ حَيضًا شَرعيًّا، ولا تَجري عليه أحكامُ الحيضِ الشَّرعيَّةُ، فإذا جاء وَقتُ الحيضِ والعادةِ الشَّهريَّةِ، وهو الوقتُ الذي كانت تَحيضُ فيه عادةً قبْلَ أنْ تُصابَ بالاستحاضةِ، فعليها أنْ تَترُكَ الصَّلاةَ عندَ حُلولِ ذلك الوقتِ مِن أوَّلِ الشَّهرِ أو وَسطِه أو آخِرِه، فإذا ذهَبَ قدْرُها فعليها أنْ تَغسِلَ أثَرَ الدَّمِ وتُصلِّيَ، والمرادُ أنْ تَظَلَّ تاركةً للصَّلاةِ والصَّومِ وغيرِهما مِن مَمنوعاتِ الحيضِ مُدَّةَ حَيضِها على عادتِها الشَّهريَّةِ قبْلَ إصابتِها بالاستحاضةِ، فإذا انتهَى مِقدارُ تلك المدَّةِ، وانقَضَتْ عِدَّةُ أيَّامِها، فتكونُ قد طَهُرَت مِن الحَيضِ، فتَغسِلُ مَوضعَ الدَّمِ تَنظيفًا له، ثمَّ تَغتسِلُ اغتسالًا كاملًا لرَفْعِ الحَدَثِ.وحَكَى هِشامٌ، عن أبيه عُروةَ بنِ الزُّبيرِ: ثمَّ تَتوضَّأُ لكلِّ صَلاةٍ خلالَ فَترةِ الاستحاضةِ حتَّى يَأتيَ وقتُ التي بعدَها.وفي الحديثِ: ما كان الصَّحابةُ عليه مِن الرُّجوعِ فيما يَحدُثُ لهم مِن الأمورِ إلى النبيِّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ، والسُّؤالِ عن الأحكامِ والجوابِ عنها.
