حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ صَحِبْتُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ وَسَعْدًا وَالْمِقْدَادَ بْنَ الأَسْوَدِ وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ ـ رضى الله عنهم ـ فَمَا سَمِعْتُ أَحَدًا، مِنْهُمْ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

، إِلاَّ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ يَوْمِ أُحُدٍ

Narrated As-Sa'-ib bin Yazid:

I was in the company of Talha bin 'Ubaidullah, Sa`d, Al-Miqdad bin Al-Aswad and `Abdur Rahman bin `Auf and I heard none of them narrating anything from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) but Talha was talking about the day (of the battle) of Uhud.

قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِم ) هُوَ اِبْن إِسْمَاعِيل , وَمُحَمَّد بْن يُوسُف هُوَ الْكِنْدِيّ وَهُوَ سَبْط لِلسَّائِبِ الْمَذْكُور , وَالسَّائِب صَحَابِيّ صَغِير اِبْن صَحَابِيَّيْنِ , وَالْإِسْنَاد كُلّه مَدَنِيُّونَ إِلَّا قُتَيْبَة. قَوْله : ( وَسَعْدًا ) أَيْ اِبْن أَبِي وَقَّاص. قَوْله : ( فَمَا سَمِعْت أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ يُحَدِّث عَنْ رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) فِي رِوَايَة يَحْيَى بْن سَعِيد الْأَنْصَارِيّ عَنْ السَّائِب " صَحِبْت سَعْد بْن مَالِك مِنْ الْمَدِينَة إِلَى مَكَّة فَمَا سَمِعْته يُحَدِّث عَنْ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِحَدِيثِ وَاحِد " أَخْرَجَهُ اِبْن مَاجَهْ , وَسَعْد بْن مَالِك هُوَ اِبْن أَبِي وَقَّاص , وَأَخْرَجَ آدَم بْن أَبِي…

I have been in the company of `AbdurRahman bin `Auf, Talha bin 'Ubaidullah, Al-Miqdad and Sa`d, and I heard none of them narrating anything from the Prophet (ﷺ) excepting the fact that I heard Talha narrating about the day of Uhud (battle) .

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) wore two coats of mail. He tried to rise over a boulder, but he could not. Then Talhah bowed down and lifted the Prophet, so he could settle on the boulder. He then heard the Prophet saying: It is obligatory for Talhah
