حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ حُجَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏

إِذَا سَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلاَ يَفْتَرِشْ يَدَيْهِ افْتِرَاشَ الْكَلْبِ وَلْيَضُمَّ فَخِذَيْهِ ‏"

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet(ﷺ) as saying:

when one of you prostrates himself, he should not stretch out his forearms( on the ground) like a dog and he should join both of his thighs.

Reported by Abu Dawud (No. 901).

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( عَنْ اِبْن حُجَيْرَة ) : بِضَمِّ الْحَاء الْمُهْمَلَة وَفَتْح الْجِيم اِسْمه عَبْد الرَّحْمَن أَبُو عَبْد اللَّه الْخَوْلَانِيُّ قَاضِي مِصْر وَثَّقَهُ النَّسَائِيُّ ( وَلْيَضُمَّ فَخِذَيْهِ ) : فِيهِ أَنَّ الْمُصَلِّي يَضُمّ فَخِذَيْهِ فِي السُّجُود لَكِنَّهُ مُعَارَض بِحَدِيثِ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ فِي صِفَة رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ " إِذَا سَجَدَ فَرَّجَ بَيْن فَخِذَيْهِ غَيْر حَامِل بَطْنه عَلَى شَيْء مِنْ فَخِذَيْهِ " رَوَاهُ الْمُؤَلِّف. وَقَوْله فَرَّجَ بَيْن فَخِذَيْهِ أَيْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنهمَا. قَالَ الشَّوْكَانِيُّ حَدِيث أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ هَذَا : وَالْحَدِيث يَدُلّ عَلَى مَشْرُوعِيَّة التَّفْرِيج بَيْن الْفَخِذَيْنِ فِي السُّجُود وَرَفْع الْبَطْن عَنْهُمَا وَلَا خ…

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Be moderate in prostration, and let none of you spread his forearms on the ground like a dog."

"‏ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَبْسُطْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ انْبِسَاطَ الْكَلْبِ ‏"

Authentic Sahih al-Bukhari 532

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do the prostration properly and do not put your forearms flat with elbows touching the ground like a dog. And if you want to spit, do not spit in front, nor to the right for the person in prayer is speaking in private to his Lord."

اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ، وَلاَ يَبْسُطْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَالْكَلْبِ، وَإِذَا بَزَقَ فَلاَ يَبْزُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلاَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ ‏"
