حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

لَعَنَ الْمُخَنَّثِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالْمُتَرَجِّلاَتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَقَالَ ‏"‏ أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ

Ibn ‘Abbas said:

The Prophet (May peace be upon him) cursed effeminate men (mukhannathan) and women who imitated men, saying: Put them out of your houses, and put so-and-so out. (that is to say, the effeminate men)

Reported by Abu Dawud (No. 4930), Al-Bukhari (No. 5885, 5886, 6834), At-Tirmidhi (No. 2785), Ahmad (No. 1878, 1902, 2016, 2177, 2984, 3279) and Ad-Darimi (No. 2535).

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( وَالْمُتَرَجِّلَات مِنْ النِّسَاء ) : أَيْ الْمُتَشَبِّهَات بِهِمْ زِيًّا وَهَيْئَة وَمِشْيَة وَرَفْع صَوْت وَنَحْوهَا لَا رَأْيًا وَعِلْمًا فَإِنَّ التَّشَبُّه بِهِمْ مَحْمُود , كَمَا رُوِيَ أَنَّ عَائِشَة رَضِيَ اللَّه عَنْهُمَا كَانَتْ رِجْلَة الرَّأْي أَيْ رَأْيهَا كَرَأْيِ الرِّجَال عَلَى مَا فِي النِّهَايَة ( قَالَ ) أَيْ خِطَابًا عَامًّا ( وَأَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ بُيُوتكُمْ ) : قَالَ الْقَارِي أَيْ مَسَاكِنكُمْ أَوْ بَلَدكُمْ. وَفِي أَحَادِيث الْبَاب مَنْع الْمُخَنَّث مِنْ الدُّخُول عَلَى النِّسَاء وَمَنْعهنَّ مِنْ الظُّهُور عَلَيْهِ , وَبَيَان أَنَّ لَهُ حُكْم الرِّجَال الْفُحُول الرَّاغِبِينَ فِي النِّسَاء فِي هَذَا الْمَعْنَى , وَكَذَا حُكْم الْخَصِيّ وَالْمَجْبُوب ذَكَره. قَالَ الْ…

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) cursed those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners) of women and those women who are in the similitude (assume the manners) of men.

The Prophet (ﷺ) cursed the effeminate men and those women who assume the similitude (manners) of men. He also said, "Turn them out of your houses." He turned such-and-such person out, and `Umar also turned out such-and-such person.
