حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا إِلَى جَنْبِهِ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ وَعَلَىَّ مِرْطٌ لِي وَعَلَيْهِ بَعْضُهُ ‏.‏

'Aishah said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would pray at night while I lay by his side during my menstrual period. A sheet of cloth would be partly on me and partly on him.

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

وَلَفْظ اِبْن مَاجَهْ : " أَنَّ رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَأَنَا إِلَى جَنْبه وَأَنَا حَائِض وَعَلَيَّ مِرْط لِي وَعَلَيْهِ بَعْضه " وَلَفْظ مُسْلِم : " كَانَ رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَأَنَا حِذَاءَهُ وَأَنَا حَائِض وَرُبَّمَا أَصَابَنِي ثَوْبه إِذَا سَجَدَ " قَالَ النَّوَوِيّ : فِيهِ دَلِيل عَلَى أَنَّ ثِيَاب الْحَائِض طَاهِرَة إِلَّا مَوْضِعًا تَرَى عَلَيْهِ دَمًا أَوْ نَجَاسَة أُخْرَى. وَفِيهِ جَوَاز الصَّلَاة بِحَضْرَةِ الْحَائِض , وَجَوَاز الصَّلَاة فِي ثَوْب بَعْضه عَلَى الْمُصَلِّي وَبَعْضه عَلَى حَائِض أَوْ غَيْرهَا. اِنْتَهَى.…

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray at night and she (‘A’ishah) would lie between him and the qiblah, sleeping on the bed on which he would sleep. When he wanted to offer the witr prayer, he awakened her and she offered the witr prayer.

يُصَلِّي صَلاَتَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَهِيَ مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ رَاقِدَةً عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ الَّذِي يَرْقُدُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُوتِرَ أَيْقَظَهَا فَأَوْتَرَتْ ‏.‏

the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray while. I was by his side in the state of menstruation. Sometime his cloth would touch me when he prostrated. He would pray on a small mat.

'A'isha asked: What disrupts the prayer? We said: The woman and the ass. Upon this she remarked: Is the woman an ugly animal? I lay in front of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) like the bier of a corpse and he said prayer.
