حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرِّشْكِ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ، قَالَتْ قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَصُومُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ ‏.‏ قُلْتُ مِنْ أَىِّ شَهْرٍ كَانَ يَصُومُ قَالَتْ

مَا كَانَ يُبَالِي مِنْ أَىِّ أَيَّامِ الشَّهْرِ كَانَ يَصُومُ ‏.‏

Mu'adhah (al-'Adawiyyah) said:

I asked 'Aishah: Would the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) fast three days every month ? She replied: Yes. I asked: Which days in the month he used to fast ? She replied: He did not care which days of the month he fasted.

Reported by Abu Dawud (No. 2453).

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( قَالَتْ نَعَمْ ) : أَيْ وَهَذَا أَقَلُّ مَا كَانَ يَقْتَصِر عَلَيْهِ ( مِنْ أَيّ شَهْر كَانَ يَصُوم ) : أَيْ هَذِهِ الثَّلَاثَة مِنْ أَوَّلهَا أَوْ أَوْسَطهَا أَوْ آخِرهَا مُتَّصِلَة أَوْ مُنْفَصِلَة قَالَتْ ( مَا كَانَ يُبَالِي ) : أَيْ يَهْتَمّ لِلتَّعْيِينِ ( مِنْ أَيّ أَيَّام الشَّهْر كَانَ يَصُوم ) : أَيْ كَانَ يَصُومهَا بِحَسْب مَا يَقْتَضِي رَأْيه الشَّرِيف قَالَ الْعُلَمَاء : وَلَعَلَّ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يُوَاظِب عَلَى ثَلَاثَة مُعَيَّنَة , لِئَلَّا يُظَنّ تَعَيُّنهَا. قَالَ الْمُنْذِرِيُّ : وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِم وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ وَابْن مَاجَهْ.…

We passed by Marr Az-Zahran and startled a rabbit. They chased it but got tired, so I chased it and caught it. I brought it to Abu Talhah who slaughtered it and sent its rump and thigh to the Prophet (ﷺ), who accepted it.

فَأَنْفَجْنَا أَرْنَبًا فَسَعَوْا عَلَيْهَا فَلَغَبُوا فَسَعَيْتُ حَتَّى أَدْرَكْتُهَا فَأَتَيْتُ بِهَا أَبَا طَلْحَةَ فَذَبَحَهَا فَبَعَثَ بِعَجُزِهَا وَوَرِكِهَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَبِلَهَا ‏.‏

Once we provoked a rabbit at Marr-az-Zahran. The people chased it till they got tired. Then I caught It and brought it to Abu Talha, who slaughtered it and then sent both its pelvic pieces (or legs) to the Prophet, and the Prophet (ﷺ) accepted the present.
