حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقَطَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي خَارِجَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْجُهَنِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏

لاَ يُخْبَطُ وَلاَ يُعْضَدُ حِمَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَلَكِنْ يُهَشُّ هَشًّا رَفِيقًا ‏"

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The leaves should not be beaten off and the trees should not be cut in the protected land of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), but the leaves can be beaten off softly.

Reported by Abu Dawud (No. 2039).

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( حِمَى ) : بِكَسْرِ الْحَاء بِغَيْرِ تَنْوِين وَهُوَ الْمَحْظُور , وَفِي الْعُرْف مَا يَحْمِيه الْإِمَام لِمَوَاشِي الصَّدَقَة وَنَحْوهَا. قَالَ فِي الْمِصْبَاح. حَمَيْت الْمَكَان مِنْ النَّاس حَمْيًا مِنْ بَاب رَمَى وَحِمْيَة بِالْكَسْرِ مَنَعْته عَنْهُمْ , وَأَحْمَيْته بِالْأَلِفِ جَعَلْته حِمًى لَا يُقْرَب وَلَا يُجْتَرَأ عَلَيْهِ ( وَلَكِنْ يُهَشّ ) بِصِيغَةِ الْمَجْهُول ( هَشًّا ) : أَيْ يُنْثَر بِلِينٍ وَرِفْق. قَالَ فِي الْمِصْبَاح : هَشَّ الرَّجُل هَشًّا مِنْ بَاب قَتَلَ صَالَ بِعَصَاهُ وَهَشَّ الشَّجَرَة هَشًّا أَيْضًا ضَرَبَهَا لِيَتَسَاقَط وَرَقهَا اِنْتَهَى. وَالْحَدِيث سَكَتَ عَنْهُ الْمُنْذِرِيُّ.…

Medina is a sacred territory, so he who made any innovation in it. or gave protection to an innovator, there is upon him the curse of Allah, that of the angels and that of all the people. There would not be accepted on the Day of Resurrection either obligatory acts or supererogatory acts from him.
