حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

أَفَاضَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ بِمِنًى يَعْنِي رَاجِعًا ‏.‏

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

The Prophet (ﷺ) performed the obligatory circumambulation (Tawaf al-Ziyarah) on the day of the sacrifice ; he then offered the noon prayer at Mina when he returned.

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( أَفَاضَ يَوْم النَّحْر ) : أَيْ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ ( ثُمَّ صَلَّى الظُّهْر بِمِنًى يَعْنِي رَاجِعًا ) : وَاَلَّذِي رَوَاهُ جَابِر فِي الْحَدِيث الطَّوِيل وَعَائِشَة هُوَ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الظُّهْر بِمَكَّة ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى مِنًى. وَاخْتَلَفَ الْعُلَمَاء فِيهِ , فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ رَجَّحَ هَذَا الْحَدِيث , وَمِنْهُمْ حَدِيث جَابِر وَعَائِشَة , وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ تَوَقَّفَ لِصِحَّةِ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ. كَذَا فِي فَتْح الْوَدُود. وَقَالَ النَّوَوِيّ : وَفِي هَذَا الْحَدِيث إِثْبَات طَوَاف الْإِفَاضَة وَأَنَّهُ يُسْتَحَبّ فِعْله يَوْم النَّحْر وَأَوَّل النَّهَار وَقَدْ أَجْمَعَ الْعُلَمَاء عَلَى أَنَّ هَذَا الطَّوَاف وَهُوَ طَوَاف الْإِفَاضَة رُكْن مِنْ أَرْكَان الْحَجّ لَ…

'Abdullah bin Masud (RAA) narrated that he kept the Ka'bah on his left and Mina on his right and threw the seven pebbles of Jamrat-ul ‘Aqabah. He then said, ‘This is the location where the one on whom surah al-Baqarah. (surah no. 2) was revealed (i e. the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)).’ Agreed upon.

'Umar (RAA) narrated, ‘The pagans did not use to depart from Muzdalifah until the sun had risen, and they would say, ‘Let the sun shine on Thabir (the highest mountain in Makkah). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) contradicted them and departed from Muzdalifah before sunrise.' Related by Al-Bukhari.
