حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شُغِلَ عَنْهَا لَيْلَةً فَأَخَّرَهَا حَتَّى رَقَدْنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ثُمَّ رَقَدْنَا ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ثُمَّ رَقَدْنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ ‏"‏

لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ غَيْرَكُمْ ‏"

‘Abd Allah b. ‘Umar said:

One night the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) was busy and he delayed the night (isha) prayer so much so that we dosed in the mosque. We awoke, then dozed, and again awoke and again dozed. He (the prophet) then came upon us and said: There is none except you who is waiting for prayer.

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( شُغِلَ عَنْهَا ) : مَبْنِيًّا لِلْمَفْعُولِ أَيْ شُغِلَ عَنْ صَلَاة الْعِشَاء , وَالشَّغْل الْمَذْكُور كَانَ فِي تَجْهِيز جَيْش , رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرِيُّ مِنْ وَجْه صَحِيح عَنْ الْأَعْمَش عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَان عَنْ جَابِر قَالَهُ الْحَافِظ ( حَتَّى رَقَدْنَا فِي الْمَسْجِد ) : الرُّقَاد : النَّوْم. قَالَ الْحَافِظ : اِسْتَدَلَّ بِهِ مَنْ ذَهَبَ إِلَى أَنَّ النَّوْم لَا يَنْقُض الْوُضُوء وَلَا دَلَالَة فِيهِ لِاحْتِمَالِ أَنْ يَكُون الرَّاقِد مِنْهُمْ قَاعِدًا مُتَمَكِّنًا أَوْ لِاحْتِمَالِ أَنْ يَكُون مُضْطَجِعًا , لَكِنَّهُ تَوَضَّأَ وَإِنْ لَمْ يُنْقَل اِكْتِفَاء بِمَا عُرِفَ مِنْ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى غَيْر وُضُوء. اِنْتَهَى. وَيَجِيء بَيَان الْمَذَاهِب فِي آخِر الْبَاب ( ثُمَّ خَرَ…

Authentic Sahih al-Bukhari 862

Once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) delayed the `Isha' prayer till `Umar informed him that the women and children had slept. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came out and said: "None from amongst the dwellers of earth have prayed this prayer except you." In those days none but the people of Medina prayed.

لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ يُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ غَيْرُكُمْ ‏"‏‏.‏ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ يُصَلِّي غَيْرَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ‏.‏
