Authentic hadith of Sahih Muslim Sahih Muslim 639b

Narrator:Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شُغِلَ عَنْهَا لَيْلَةً فَأَخَّرَهَا حَتَّى رَقَدْنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ثُمَّ رَقَدْنَا ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظْنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏"‏

لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ اللَّيْلَةَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلاَةَ غَيْرُكُمْ ‏"

Abdullah b. 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was one night occupied (in some work) and he delayed it ('Isya' prayer) till we went to sleep in the mosque. We then woke up and again went to sleep and again woke up. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then came to us and said:

None among the people of the earth except you waits for prayer in the night.

An-Nawawi — Sharh Sahih Muslim

قَوْله : ( رَقَدْنَا فِي الْمَسْجِد ثُمَّ اِسْتَيْقَظْنَا , ثُمَّ رَقَدْنَا ثُمَّ اِسْتَيْقَظْنَا ) وَفِي رِوَايَة عَائِشَة : ( نَامَ أَهْل الْمَسْجِد ) هَذَا مَحْمُول عَلَى نَوْم لَا يَنْقُض الْوُضُوء , وَهُوَ نَوْم الْجَالِس مُمَكِّنًا مَقْعَده. وَفِيهِ : دَلِيل عَلَى أَنَّ نَوْم مِثْل هَذَا لَا يَنْقُض , وَبِهِ قَالَ الْأَكْثَرُونَ , وَهُوَ الصَّحِيح فِي مَذْهَبنَا. وَقَدْ سَبَقَ إِيضَاح هَذِهِ الْمَسْأَلَة فِي آخِر كِتَاب الطَّهَارَة.…

Once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) delayed the `Isha' prayer till `Umar informed him that the women and children had slept. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came out and said: "None from amongst the dwellers of earth have prayed this prayer except you." In those days none but the people of Medina prayed.

لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ يُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ غَيْرُكُمْ ‏"‏‏.‏ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ يُصَلِّي غَيْرَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ‏.‏
