حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الْعَدَّاءُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ، - قَالَ هَنَّادٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، - قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ الْعَدَّاءِ بْنِ هَوْذَةَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ قَائِمٌ فِي الرِّكَابَيْنِ ‏

Al-Adda' ibn Khalid ibn Hudhah said:

I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on 9 Dhul-Hijjah on a camel standing at the stirrups.

Abu Dawud said: Ibn al-'Ala has reported this tradition from Waki' as narrated by Hammad.

Reported by Abu Dawud (No. 1917, 1918) and Ahmad (No. 19446).

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( عَنْ عَبْد الْمَجِيد أَبِي عَمْرو ) : كُنْيَة عَبْد الْمَجِيد ( خَالِد بْن الْعَدَّاء ) : بِفَتْحِ الْعَيْن الْمُهْمَلَة وَتَشْدِيد الدَّال الْمُهْمَلَة ( بْن هَوْذَة ) : بِفَتْحِ الْهَاء وَسُكُون الْوَاو بَعْدهَا ذَال مُعْجَمَة ( يَخْطُب النَّاس ) : أَيْ يَعِظهُمْ وَيُعَلِّمهُمْ الْمَنَاسِك ( يَوْم عَرَفَة ) : بَعْد الزَّوَال كَمَا فِي حَدِيث جَابِر ( عَلَى بَعِير قَائِم فِي الرِّكَابَيْنِ ) : وَفِي بَعْض النُّسَخ قَائِمًا حَالَانِ مُتَرَادِفَانِ أَوْ مُتَدَاخِلَانِ. وَقَوْله : قَائِمًا أَوْ وَاقِفًا , لَا أَنَّهُ قَائِم عَلَى الدَّابَّة , بَلْ مَعْنَاهُ أَنَّ حَال كَوْن الرِّجْلَيْنِ دَاخِلَيْنِ فِي الرِّكَابَيْنِ. وَالْحَدِيث سَكَتَ عَنْهُ الْمُنْذِرِيُّ.…

Khalid b. Haudha said he saw the Prophet addressing the people on the day of ‘Arafa standing in the stirrups on a camel. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

وَعَن خالدِ بنَ هَوْذَةَ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ قَائِمًا فِي الركابين. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
