حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَابِطٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَصْحَابَهُ كَانُوا

`Abd al Rahman bin Thabit said:
The Prophet (SWAS) and his companions used to sacrifice the camel with its left leg tied and it remained standing on the rest of his legs.

Ziyād ibn Jubayr reported: I saw Ibn ‘Umar passing by a man who had made his camel kneel down so as to slaughter it. Ibn ‘Umar said: "Slaughter it while it is standing with one leg tied up, as this is the Sunnah of Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)."
