Chapter: A Poor Man Can Give A Gift From The Sadaqah To A Rich Man

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أُتِيَ بِلَحْمٍ قَالَ ‏"‏ مَا هَذَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالُوا شَىْءٌ تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ هُوَ

لَهَا صَدَقَةٌ وَلَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ ‏"

Anas said when some meat was brought to the Prophet (SAWS), he asked What is this? He was told this is a thing (meat), which was given as sadaqah to Barirah. Thereupon, he said it is sadaqah for her and a gift to us.

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( أُتِيَ ) : بِضَمِّ الْهَمْزَة مَبْنِيًّا لِلْمَفْعُولِ ( بِلَحْمٍ ) : أَيْ بِلَحْمِ الشَّاة ( تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ ) : بِضَمِّ أَوَّله وَثَانِيه ( عَلَى بَرِيرَة ) : مُوَلَّاة عَائِشَة ( فَقَالَ هُوَ ) : أَيْ اللَّحْم الْمُتَصَدَّق بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَة ( لَهَا صَدَقَة وَلَنَا هَدِيَّة ) : قَالَ اِبْن مَالِك يَجُوز فِي صَدَقَة الرَّفْع عَلَى أَنَّهُ خَبَر هُوَ وَلَهَا صِفَة قُدِّمَتْ فَصَارَتْ حَالًا , وَيَجُوز النَّصْب فِيهَا عَلَى الْحَال وَالْخَبَر لَهَا اِنْتَهَى. وَالصَّدَقَة مِنْحَة لِثَوَابِ الْآخِرَة , وَالْهَدِيَّة تَمْلِيك الْغَيْر شَيْئًا تَقَرُّبًا إِلَيْهِ , وَإِكْرَامًا لَهُ , فَفِي الصَّدَقَة نَوْع ذُلّ لِلْآخِذِ , فَلِذَلِكَ حُرِّمَتْ الصَّدَقَة عَلَيْهِ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَ…

Some meat was presented to the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and it had been given to Barira (the freed slave-girl of Aisha) in charity. He said, "This meat is a thing of charity for Barira but it is a gift for us."

أُتِيَ بِلَحْمٍ تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ هُوَ عَلَيْهَا صَدَقَةٌ، وَهُوَ لَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ ‏"

Narrated by Anas ibn Mālik

Some meat was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) and it was said that the meat had been given in charity to Barirah. He said, "It was Sadaqa for Barirah but a gift for us."

أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِلَحْمٍ فَقِيلَ تُصُدِّقَ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ قَالَ ‏"‏ هُوَ لَهَا صَدَقَةٌ، وَلَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ ‏"
