"The Prophet performed ablution, and he put his fingers in the (holes) inside of his ears."

تَوَضَّأَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَأَدْخَلَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ فِي جُحْرَىْ أُذُنَيْهِ ‏.‏

وَعَن الرّبيع بنت معوذ: أَنَّهَا رَأَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ قَالَتْ فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ مَا أَقَبْلَ مِنْهُ وَمَا أَدْبَرَ وَصُدْغَيْهِ وَأُذُنَيْهِ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ…

"He started with the front of his head, moved them (his hands) to the nape of his neck, and then returned them to the place where he started."
