Sunan Abu Dawud 121

The Messenger of Allah performed ablution and he wiped his head and his ears, inside and out.

تَوَضَّأَ فَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ وَأُذُنَيْهِ ظَاهِرَهُمَا وَبَاطِنَهُمَا ‏.‏

Narrated by Al-Miqdām

"He started with the front of his head, moved them (his hands) to the nape of his neck, and then returned them to the place where he started."
