Date of the end of ramadan and Eid ul Fitr 2017/1438 in Saudi Arabia

In the holy land of Saudi Arabia, Eid ul Fitr is very special, people begin preparing for this feast since the last days of Ramadan, they use to go to markets and malls to buy new clothes for them or their children for the Eid, women prepare some special Eid cakes such as “Luqmat Al Qadi”, “Zalabiya”…

Eid ul Fitr there, is a symbol of joy, happiness, family, it’s an occasion for people to meet each other, to celebrate the feast together, it’s also an opportunity to forgive and make “Silat Al-rahim”.

On the Eid dawn, the cannon launches announce the end of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia and then the joy of first day of Eid. People go to the Eid prayer in the morning wearing new clothes and perfumes. They give alms to poor people and gifts for children who always are very happy in this occasion. In Saudi Arabia as well as in other countries, people used to give children money, it’s called “Aydiya”.

After Salat al Eid, Saudi visit each other, giving greetings and wishes for the Eid. In the evening, a lot of people choose to go out to malls or public spaces, while others prefer celebrate yhe feast with friends or family enjoying their time or eating special dishes of Eid.

The first day of Eid ul Fetr in Saudi Arabia is announced by Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court which is tasked to observe the crescent in the twenty-ninth of the month of Ramadan through committees in a lot of areas of the country. If the moon crescent is seen, then the following day is Eid, otherwise it’s the day after.

This year, the end of Ramadan 2017/1438 in Saudi Arabia will be on the 25 June 2017 incha’Allah (More or less one day, depending of the country where do you live).
