Wassel Almethen

Wassel Dawood Almethen is one of the sheikhs of Saudi Arabia who believe that the judiciary is among the most important matters Islam came to regulate, since it concerns the protection of human rights and the prevention of injustice. For this reason, he set out to combine Islamic studies with legal and judicial studies.

Sheikh Wassel Almethen became known in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahsa Province as one of its most famous reciters, among those distinguished by a unique voice and a mastery of the articulation points of the letters. In this vein, he has made a number of Quranic recordings, in addition to a complete murattal recitation of the Quran.

Alongside this, Sheikh Wassel Almethen was appointed an appeals judge at the Sabya court, and later head of the Al-Uyun court in Al-Ahsa Province. He is also known for his intellectual activities and his participation in numerous seminars, including the second scientific symposium organized by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, held at the university’s headquarters in Riyadh under the title “Combating Human Trafficking.”
