Winds, according to these verses, drive the clouds and help bring down rain, fertilize plants and come as good tidings of Allah’s mercy; their alternation is among His signs. They also serve as images in parables, as a warning to the disobedient and as an instrument of punishment, a violent wind or a destructive hurricane, as well as a support for the victory of the believers.
Verses gathered from a topical index of the Quran, in Mushaf order; every verse is quoted in full.
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall] until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded.
It is Allāh who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds and spread them in the sky however He wills, and He makes them fragments so you see the rain emerge from within them. And when He causes it to fall upon whom He wills of His servants, immediately they rejoice
And it is Allāh who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds, and We drive them to a dead land and give life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Thus is the resurrection.
