Sin is personal: it is not inherited and no one bears another’s burden. These verses show how sins corrupt hearts, bring trials and punishment and lead nations to ruin; they mention the sin that is not forgiven and cite wrongs such as blaming an innocent person or harming believers, while no blame falls on one who errs unintentionally.

فَلَمَّآ أَن جَآءَ ٱلْبَشِيرُ أَلْقَىٰهُ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦ فَٱرْتَدَّ بَصِيرًا قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٩٦
And when the bearer of good tidings arrived, he cast it over his face, and he returned [once again] seeing. He said, "Did I not tell you that I know from Allāh that which you do not know?"
