A character trait of the prophets and a station of those of firm resolve, patience is the subject of a command addressed to the Messenger ﷺ. The verses recall that Allah is with the patient, promise them reward and good tidings in the face of misfortune, and make patience a path to success in life and the key to all good.
Verses gathered from a topical index of the Quran, in Mushaf order; every verse is quoted in full.
You will surely be tested in your possessions and in yourselves. And you will surely hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate others with Allāh much abuse. But if you are patient and fear Allāh - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of resolve.
And why should we not rely upon Allāh while He has guided us to our [good] ways. And we will surely be patient against whatever harm you should cause us. And upon Allāh let those who would rely [indeed] rely."
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] resolve.
