Allah took covenants from the children of Adam, the prophets, the Children of Israel, the People of the Book and the believers: these verses speak of them and command keeping one’s pledges, praising those who honour them and blaming those who break them. They also address treaties with enemies: honouring them until their term as long as the other side does, and openly declaring their termination.
Verses gathered from a topical index of the Quran, in Mushaf order; every verse is quoted in full.
And [We cursed them] for their breaking of the covenant and their disbelief in the signs of Allāh and their killing of the prophets without right and their saying, "Our hearts are wrapped" [i.e., sealed against reception]. Rather, Allāh has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.
So for their breaking of the covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hardened. They distort words from their [proper] places [i.e., usages] and have forgotten a portion of that of which they were reminded. And you will still observe deceit among them, except a few of them. But pardon them and overlook [their misdeeds]. Indeed, Allāh loves the doers of good.
