Tafsir of verse 15

Al-Mukhtasar

The Hour is most definitely coming and it will certainly occur. I almost keep it hidden so that no creation knows its time, but they are aware of its signs by the information given to them by the Prophet sent to them, so that each soul is rewarded for what it did, whether good or evil.

Other translations of verse 15

The Hour is certainly coming, but I almost keep it hidden4, so that every soul will be recompensed for what it strives.

Notes

[4] Allah keeps its knowledge hidden from all except its portents which the believers know through the information provided by the Prophet (ﷺ).

"Verily, the Hour is coming - and I am almost hiding it from Myself - that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives.

Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve).

"Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour.

Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives:

Surely the Hour is coming up-I would almost conceal it-that every self may be recompensed for whatever it endeavors (to achieve).
