Tafsir of verse 26
Al-Mukhtasar
Such deviation occurred to them because they secretly said to the idolaters who hate the revelation that He had sent down to His messenger: We will follow you in some matters such as impeding the fighting. Allah knows what they keep hidden and what they make public. Nothing is hidden from Him and He will make apparent whatever He wishes to His messenger.
That is because they say to those19 who hate what Allah has sent down, “We will obey you in some matters20.” But Allah knows their secret schemes.
Notes
[19] i.e., the Jews of Madīnah.
[20] i.e., your hostility to the Prophet (ﷺ) and hindering people from participation in Jihad.
This is because they said to those who hate what Allâh has sent down: "We will obey you in part of the matter." But Allâh knows their secrets.
That is because they say unto those who hate what Allah hath revealed: We will obey you in some matters; and Allah knoweth their secret talk.
This, because they said to those who hate what Allah has revealed, "We will obey you in part of (this) matter"; but Allah knows their (inner) secrets.
That is because they say to those who hate what Allah has revealed: We will obey you in some of the affairs; and Allah knows their secrets.
That is for that they said to the ones who hate what Allah has been successively sending down, "We will soon obey you in some of the Command." And Allah knows their secret (talk).
And they say, "[We pledge] obedience." But when they leave you, a group of them spend the night determining to do other than what you say. But Allāh records what they plan by night. So leave them alone and rely upon Allāh. And sufficient is Allāh as Disposer of affairs.
