Tafsir of verse 35
Al-Mukhtasar
O Messenger, recall when Ibrahim said, after relocating his son Ismael and Ismael’s mother, Hajar, in the valley of Makkah: “Oh Lord! Make this city, Makkah, in which I have placed my family, a city of peace wherein no blood is shed and no person oppresses another. Distance myself and my children from the worship of idols”.
And [remember] when Abraham said, “My Lord, make this city [of Makkah] secure and save me and my children from worshiping idols.
And (remember) when Ibrâhîm (Abraham) said: "O my Lord! Make this city (Makkah) one of peace and security, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols.
And when Abraham said: My Lord! Make safe this territory, and preserve me and my sons from serving idols.
Remember Abraham said: "O my Lord! make this city one of peace and security: and preserve me and my sons from worshipping idols.
And when Ibrahim said: My Lord! make this city secure, and save me and my sons from worshipping idols:
And as Ibrahim (Abraham) said, "Lord! Make this land secure and make me and my seeds (Or: sons) avoid worshiping idols.
And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits - whoever of them believes in Allāh and the Last Day." [Allāh] said, "And whoever disbelieves - I will grant him enjoyment for a little; then I will force him to the punishment of the Fire, and wretched is the destination."
And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead." [Allāh] said, "Have you not believed?" He said, "Yes, but [I ask] only that my heart may be satisfied." [Allāh] said, "Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; then call them - they will come [flying] to you in haste. And know that Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise."
