Tafsir of verse 26
Al-Mukhtasar
The example of the bad word of disbelief is that of a bad tree, the colocynth. It is removed from its foundation with no stability on the earth. Nor does it extend into the sky, so it dies and is scattered by the wind. The word of disbelief results in ruin, and its owner’s good deeds will not reach Allah.
But an evil word16 is like an evil tree17, uprooted from the surface of the earth, having no stability.
Notes
[16] i.e., the word of disbelief and polytheism.
[17] i.e., the tree of colocynth; it has no stable root and its stalks are so feeble; such is disbelief which is shaky in the heart, and their deeds are not raised to benefit them in the Hereafter.
And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of earth, having no stability.
And the similitude of a bad saying is as a bad tree, uprooted from upon the earth, possessing no stability.
And the parable of an evil Word is that of an evil tree: It is torn up by the root from the surface of the earth: it has no stability.
And the parable of an evil word is as an evil tree pulled up from the earth's surface; it has no stability.
And the similitude of a wicked word is as a wicked tree: uprooted from above the earth; in no way does it have any stability.
