Text of verse 16:98

فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ فَٱسْتَعِذْ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ ۝٩٨

Transliteration

fa-idhā qarata l-qur'āna fa-is'taʿidh bil-lahi mina l-shayṭāni l-rajīmi

Translation

So when you recite the Qur’ān, [first] seek refuge in Allāh from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy].

When you intend to recite the Qur’ān - O believer - then ask Allah to protect you from the whispering of the Satan, who is rejected from Allah’s mercy.

Other translations of verse 98

When you recite the Qur’an, seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.

So when you want to recite the Qur’ân, seek refuge with Allâh from Shaitân (Satan), the outcast (the cursed one).

And when thou recitest the Qur'an, seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast.

When thou dost read the Qur'an, seek Allah's protection from Satan the rejected one.

So when you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaitan,

So when you read the Qur'an, then seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Shaytan (The all-vicious, i.e., the Devil).
