سورة النحل، الآية ٥٧
وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ ٱلْبَنَٰتِ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَلَهُم مَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ٥٧
wayajʿalūna lillahi l-banāti sub'ḥānahu walahum mā yashtahūna
And they attribute to Allāh daughters704 - exalted is He - and for them is what they desire [i.e., sons].
[704] By claiming that the angels are His daughters.

The idolaters attribute daughters to Allah and they believe that these are the angels. Thus they attribute lineage to Allah and select for him what they do not like for themselves. He is Pure, Glorified and Sanctified from what they assign to Him. They assign for themselves the male offspring that they desire. What crime is greater than this?!
To Allah they ascribe daughters33 – glory be to Him – but for themselves they choose what they desire [i.e., sons].
[33] The pagans falsely claimed that the angels were Allah’s daughters.
And they assign daughters unto Allâh! - Glorified (and Exalted) is He above all that they associate with Him! And unto themselves what they desire;
And they assign unto Allah daughters - Be He Glorified! - and unto themselves what they desire;
And they assign daughters for Allah! - Glory be to Him! - and for themselves (sons,- the issue) they desire!
And they ascribe daughters to Allah, glory be to Him; and for themselves (they would have) what they desire.
And they make up to Allah daughters. All Extolment be to Him! And they have whatever they lust for.
أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ …
Is the male for you and for Him the female? …
أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ …
Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, …
