Tafsir of verse 127
Al-Mukhtasar
So be patient - O Messenger - over the harm that they afflict on you. You are only granted the ability to be patient by Allah’s granting it to you. Do not grieve over the disbelievers’ turning away from you, and do not let your heart be constrained by the schemes and plots they carry out.
And be patient, for your patience comes only from Allah; do not grieve over them82, nor be distressed by their evil plots.
Notes
[82] The Prophet (ﷺ) was grieved that they would not believe.
And endure you patiently (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم), your patience is not but from Allâh. And grieve not over them (polytheists and pagans), and be not distressed because of what they plot.
Endure thou patiently (O Muhammad). Thine endurance is only by (the help of) Allah. Grieve not for them, and be not in distress because of that which they devise.
And do thou be patient, for thy patience is but from Allah; nor grieve over them: and distress not thyself because of their plots.
And be patient and your patience is not but by (the assistance of) Allah, and grieve not for them, and do not distress yourself at what they plan.
And (endure) patiently, and in no way is your patience with the help of anyone except with Allah. And do not grieve for them, nor be straitened for whatever they scheme.
