Tafsir of verse 30
Al-Mukhtasar
The evil prompting soul of Cain persuaded him to wrongly kill his brother, Abel. So he killed him and because of that he became one of those who are losers in this world and the Afterlife. He set a bad example and will therefore bear that burden, as well as the burden of any person who does the same until the Day of Judgement, without any reduction in the burden of those who imitate him.
But the former justified to himself the killing of his brother and killed him, and thus became one of the losers.
So the Nafs (self) of the other (latter one) encouraged him and made fair-seeming to him the murder of his brother; he murdered him and became one of the losers.
But (the other's) mind imposed on him the killing of his brother, so he slew him and became one of the losers.
The (selfish) soul of the other led him to the murder of his brother: he murdered him, and became (himself) one of the lost ones.
Then his mind facilitated to him the slaying of his brother so he slew him; then he became one of the losers
Then his self persuaded him to the killing of his brother, so he killed him, then he became among the losers.
