Tafsir of verse 270

Al-Mukhtasar

Whatever you spend, no matter how little, for the pleasure of Allah, or any action that you promise to do for Allah without having been required to do it, Allah knows of it and it will not be lost. He will give you a great reward for it. Those who do wrong by not fulfilling their obligations and overstepping Allah’s limits have no one to protect them against the punishment on the Day of Resurrection.

Whatever charity you give or vow167 you make, Allah surely knows it. But the wrongdoers have no helpers.

Notes

[167] Nadhr (vowing): It is to make obligatory for oneself that which is not, usually in return for a Godly favor. For example, if my child is healed, I will give in charity such amount of money.

And whatever you spend for spendings (e.g., in Sadaqah - charity for Allâh’s Cause) or whatever vow you make, be sure Allâh knows it all. And for the Zâlimûn (wrong-doers) there are no helpers.

Whatever alms ye spend or vow ye vow, lo! Allah knoweth it. Wrong-doers have no helpers.

And whatever ye spend in charity or devotion, be sure Allah knows it all. But the wrong-doers have no helpers.

And whatever alms you give or (whatever) vow you vow, surely Allah knows it; and the unjust shall have no helpers.

And whatever expenditure you expend or whatever vow you vow, then surely Allah knows it; and in no way (can) the unjust have any vindicators.

  • Ali ’Imran 3:192

Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire - You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.

  • Al-Ma’idah 5:72

They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allāh is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allāh, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allāh - Allāh has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
